316 stainless steel
Class A4 USA Grade 316 F593
Grade A4 is also an Austenitic grade of 316 stainless steel, it has a higher corrosion resistance than A2 grade 316 stainless steel and this in many chemical environments.
Class A4 USA Grade 316 F593 is highly advised to be used where installations are undergoing extreme operating conditions, including contact with dilute sulphuric acid, and acetic acid over a wide range of temperature and concentration.
316L stainless steel is Resistance to atmospheric staining and pitting in industrial and urban areas, and also is suitable for marine conditions but not immersed in sea water.
The Class A4 USA Grade 316 F593 oxidation resistance is satisfactory for use up to 800ºC (1.472 °F).
Resistance to nitric acid and other oxidising chemicals is excellent.
Resistance to other mineral and organic acids is good within certain limits of temperature and concentration.
Generally unsuitable for solutions of hydrochloric acid and chlorides, particularly if evaporation at high temperatures occurs. Satisfactory oxidation resistance up to 800ºC (1.472 °F).
Class A4 USA Grade 316 F593 has a significant stress relaxation above 600ºC. (1112 °F)

- Coastal Environments
Applications
Fasteners for swimming pools
Companies producing service panels for filtering, tubing and engines, exposed to chlorine in water and environment, make use of 316 stainless steel A4 grade steel.
Applications
Semiconductor Industry
The semiconductor Industry producing wafers uses a lot of aggressive chemical products, turning them into a very corrosive environment.
Food Industry
Companies producing equipment for the food industry use lot’s of chemicals to clean their production line.
