An extensive range of size and forces
Gas springs are commonly referred to by their size. Typically, the three common sizes for stainless steel gas springs are 6-15, 8-18, 10-23 and 14-28, although other sizes are available. The sizes directly relate to the diameter of the rod and the tube, for example an 8-18 will have a rod diameter of 8mm and a tube diameter of 18mm.

For Vari-Lift versions add 5mm for the valve when calculating the extended length. The force is set to the maximum as standard but can be pre-set lower as required.

High Corrosion Resistant
The A4 316L Stainless Steel gas spring provides an increased corrosion‐resistance. A4 Stainless steel 316L gas springs can be used in chloride environments, offshore installations and chemical plants.
These A4 SS gas springs are made of 316L stainless steel and were subjected to more than 1,000 hours of salt spray testing. They are manufactured with a chrome rod surface finish specially prepared for increased hardness and protection against high levels of corrosion. They are ideal for use in harsh environments such as boat cabinets, doors, hatches, as well as for applications requiring a high level of cleanliness, in the food, pharmaceutical and medical fields industry.
Our stainless steel springs and steel bars are available in a wide range of sizes. Some of our shock absorbers and gas bars are also available in stainless steel.
You have all the advantages of a standard gas spring, but you also benefit from a high corrosion resistance that allows these gas springs to be used in harsh environments where the standard gas spring would be more likely to suffer from corrosion problems.
